    Mariko Enomoto

    Born in 1982, based in Tokyo.

    Influenced by her great-grandfather, a Japanese-style painter, she grew up surrounded by art from an early age. After studying fashion, she began painting independently.

    Her work, primarily acrylic paintings, often depicts figures whose faces are obscured by plants or animals, and has been presented in both solo and group exhibitions. In recent years, she has expanded her practice across various fields, including book covers, theatrical visuals, and CD artwork. Her notable works include the Japanese edition cover of Kim Jiyoung, Born 1982 by Cho Nam-joo (Chikuma Shobo) and illustrations for Mieko Kawakami’s serialized novel The Yellow House in The Yomiuri Shimbun.
